Run
for the Roses - October
Run for the Roses is a 5K and 10K run/walk sponsored by the Ames Area Running Club and Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. RFTR is an annual event that takes place each
fall during the month of October. This past year was our 21st Annual race and
we hope to make it bigger and better next year! We hope to increase participation and top our largest number of entries of 1,100 runners. AOII members contribute many hours to RFTR because it is our primary philanthropy.
Last year we raised $10,000 and all
proceeds went to benefit Arthritis Research, our National Philanthropy.
After the race, runners are invited to an
omelet breakfast. AOII members cook and serve hundreds of omelets to the runners' specifications.
Runners come from all over the Midwest to participate in Run for
the Roses.

Greek Easter
Egg Hunt
The women of Alpha Omicron Pi look forward to the Greek Easter
Egg Hunt every April sponsored by the Panhellenic and
Intrerfraternity Councils. Children from the Ames community are
invited to central campus to hunt for Easter eggs filled with
candy donated by the fraternities and sororities
Greek Trick-or-Treat
The Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils put together a Greek Trick-or-Treat every year to provide a safe environment for Ames area children. Children can walk with their parents along fraternity row and collect treats from Greeks. The best part is, we get to dress up in costumes!
Other Philanthropies
Not only do we have the largest Greek philanthropy, Run for the Roses, we also participate in many other events. We participate in
Delta Wild Wings, Phi Delta Theta Tuck-Ins, and
Pi Phi's Dirty Open volleyball tournament, just to name a few. We are also involved with
campus philanthropies such as Habitat for Humanity and the United Way.
